SEARCHING FOR ORGANIST
We are actively searching for an Organist to participate in the Music Ministry here at Zion. If you believe that you or someone you know would be perfect for this position, then we want to hear from you. LOOSE CHANGE OFFERING, APR 2023
Please add your Loose Change offering to the plate in the back of the sanctuary throughout the month. At the end of the month, the APR 2023 Loose Change Offering will go to Donate Life America in observance of Organ Donation Month.
FRIENDS & FAMILY DIRECTORY
Our Friends & Family Directory is now available. Please notify the office of any changes to your current listing; and if you are not listed currently but wish to be, please provide the office with names, mailing address, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and birthdate (optional) for each member of your household so that we can make those changes the next time the directory is updated.
HEALING SHAWLS FROM COMPASSION & CARE TEAM
Glen Rock resident, Lucy Cadwallader, contacted Zion with the following request. For the past 6 years, a free program with 16 volunteers called Compassion & Care Team within the York County Coroner's Office has reached out to families who have lost loved ones. They provide comforting letters, grief support, support group information as needed. Now they wish to offer Healing Shawls to mothers, grandmothers, care givers who have lost a child. If you have free time to knit/crochet for this worthy cause, please call Lucy (717-873-4971). She will provide the yarn and pattern. Interested? Please contact Lucy directly. (This is unrelated to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Zion.)
SOCIAL TIME EVERY WEEK
Join us for Social Time in the Social Hall at the close of each Sunday service for snacks, beverages and to catch up with one another.
COVID-19 GUIDELINES FOR WORSHIP HAVE CHANGED
Effective as of 10/02/22 :
- Mask wearing is optional
- Keep social distancing in mind when choosing a seat
Communion will continue on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, with the option to receive communion at the altar or using the individual chalices while staying in the pew.
Hymns will no longer be printed in the bulletins; hymnals will be used
Sharing the Peace will continue to be done while staying in the pew
In-person Sunday (9AM) service will also be live-streamed on Facebook and recorded each week and posted to YouTube as soon as possible thereafter.

Pick up your offering envelopes from the windowsill in the back of the sanctuary.
Please continue to support Zion’s mission. Your financial contribution can be made by:
- Mailing a check to Zion Lutheran Church, 47 Hanover Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327. (Make sure to write your envelope number on the check)
- Online Giving on our website.
CHURCH OFFICE HOURS
The office is now open to in person visits. It is best to contact Brenda before stopping in the office because she is still splitting her time working at home and in the office. Brenda can be reached at 717-235-3276 in the office, or on her cell phone at 717-793-7236.
The congregation at Zion Lutheran Church is honored to have been designated as an important historic structure by the Glen Rock Historic Preservation Society. To mark this occasion, the GRHPS dedicated the 2019 Historic Landmark Plaque during a ceremony on Sunday, October 27, 2019. The plaque has been installed just to the right of the main entrace to the sanctruary. The presentation shared the high points of Zion's history and importance of Zion Lutheran Church in the borough of Glen Rock.
